Fibromyalgia is a chronic disease of the central nervous system causing debilitating pain that spreads throughout every part of the body. 3-6 million people in America suffer from Fibromyalgia, 90% of them women. They experience symptoms such as headaches, restless legs syndrome, cognitive and memory problems, painful menstruation, and trouble sleeping. Because this is a disease of the central nervous system, other problems such as tingling and numbness are also extremely common. Approximately 90% of those who suffer from fibromyalgia also struggle with chronic fatigue syndrome.
The exact cause of fibromyalgia is unknown, however, recent research has targeted traumatic neck injury (whiplash, concussion, etc.) as a risk factor for fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue onset. Following a spinal injury, pain and fatigue symptoms can be triggered immediately or can take months or years to develop.
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is a very complicated disorder that can't be explained by any underlying medical condition and is characterized by extreme fatigue. This fatigue may worsen with physical or mental activity, but is not improved with rest. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) report more than one million people in the United States have CFS. Women are four times more likely to get CFS than men.
AdvaCare incredible effective method of coping with chronic pain. On first appointment we will examine and diagnose the key causes behind the pain. The purpose of chiropractic care is to reverse the trauma-induced injury; thereby reducing irritation to the nerves in the brain stem and spinal cord that can trigger pain, neuromuscular dysfunction, and fatigue. Many patients report more energy, less pain or no pain, greater flexibility, increased mobility, and reduced inflammation of joints after just a few chiropractic adjustments.
